It is Aces High's feature.
In the P-38L, Aces High uses only m2_2.wav and m2_3.wav to sound four M2 machine-gun sounds.
It often causes the howling problem when firing guns as a burst shot.

Aces High uses a file for each gun on a plane.  For example, for the P-51D it uses M2.wav, M2_2.wav, M2_3.wav, M2_4.wav, and M2_5.wav.  Even though each file sounds the same, AH plays the files simultaneously to develop the "choir" effect.

Simply download the .wav file into your Aces High/Sounds directory, then Copy/Paste the 50cal file 5 or 6 times and rename each copy M2, M2_2, M2_3, etc.

Ya Know gofaster....Thanks,

I think that was asked several times in this thread and never really got answered.  Nopoop got close.

After many years in WarBirds, I understood the system and have a collage of sounds from 4 or 5 different soundmen plus some I have done myself.  I don't think the way it is done on the machine guns here in AH is intuitively obvious.

I am glad to see there are some here that can take the time to quickly explain it to us of lesser knowledge.

Thanks again Nopoop and gofaster, you are gentlemen.

Mia, you have to edit the length of the sound to eliminate
the gaps.
Here is the 50 cal edited and compatable with AH..
If you dont have individual folers for your aircraft sounds,
you have to put this in your c:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High\
Sounds file, and copy it to m2_2, m2_3, m2_4 files.
I have trie the sounds and it is ok, but a little echoy.

Ok, the attchemnt didnt take.  Look below.

Ok, I cant figure out ohow to atach files in here.  But I think the
M2_X files are .438 seconds long for a burst.
