Introducing the 339th Fighter Group
« on: February 10, 2003, 03:16:08 PM »
Its time for a new pony squadron, I decided there wasnt enough so I thought I would start my own:D

The 339th Fighter Group is a historical based group flying for rooks in the MA and we will be running our squad ops on Sunday nights. When we become more established we will probably focus more on events, but for now we'll just stick to the main.

The real life 339th flew out of Fowlmere England the last year of war, doing bomber escort, fighter sweep and ground attack missions. The virtual 339ths primary focus will be the same, stressing fighter sweep and ground attack all in P51s using historical formations and tactics. Although we might switch to jugs for ground attack missions, my merlin is an ack magnet.

If possible I would like to team up with another squadron to run ops with for awhile. If any of groups are interested click the recruiting link in my sig to send me an e-mail.

Sounds like a fun squad bizket. I just hope you don't change your handle to Col. John B. Henry.

No I was never the CO for the 352nd, I just happen to be the guy that formed the squad in AH. The 352nds CO is rhino and he runs the group over in WBs.

Doh!  Teach me for not reading:D

In any case, I will be just as happy to shoot them down as I would to fly wing with them:D
