BOYCOTT FRENCH AND RUSSIAN EXPORTS!

Oh.. wait a minute.... we don't import anything from france or russia..

hmmmm...

ok, i got it..

REFUSE RUSSIAN AND FRENCH SALAD DRESSINGS!!

That'll teach the froggy and roooooski bastids!

------------

Steve, I couldn't agree more.. both points. Russian and French financial greed is far overshadowing the RealPolitic War on Terror, the French and Russians are simply indicating by thier actions that they prize their cash more than they give a toejam about international terrorisim.

"Screw the war on terror and so what if Saddam is a mass-murderer.. we gotta protect our phoney baloney oil leases"

Second; the UN... What freakin good is it when it can't act in a clear cut case like Iraq? Here we got a mass murderer in charge of a nation hiding behind the skirts of a security council member that holds financial intrest in the murderers regime.

Time for the US to pull out of the UN, kick the UN outta New York, pull out of Europe, close our French, German and Russian embassies, cancel all aid to any nation that does business with regimes we've got on the 'watch' list,  in short; screw 'em all.

Toads "Island America" is lookin better every damn day.

I think Hortlund is right. France may very well be motivated by oil.

I also think it is naive to think we are not. If the Middle East wasn't the largest oil depost in the world, do you think we would give a rats bellybutton what Saddam did? (OK maybe a rats ass, but not much more than that)

We cannot allow a despotic madman to produce WMD to threaten the flow of oil to the west. The fact that Saddam is a godawful bad man wouldn't mean squat if he were in Tonga. (no offense to our Tongan BBS users).

No, the easy path is to deny that there is even a problem so you dont have to fill bodybags.

Actually, the Oilsands ALONE in Alberta represent far more oil than what the entire middle east is floating on.

The USA imports 26% of its oil from my province.  They get 12% from the middle east, a fraction of which is from Iraq.

With the Lie-beral government we have which seems to enjoy creating problems with the US, particularly with trade issues, and with Canada being one of the few countries foolish enough to sign Kyoto with no plan to implement it, the USA would be far wiser to invade Canada instead of Iraq, IF it is merely interested in "oil".

Most likely because we are the most heavily taxed nation in the free world, all totalled likely 50% higher tax here than down in the USA.  Also throw in an extremely corrupt government which has been spending like a drunken sailor for years.

Also, the oilsands projects are in flux thanks to our good buddy Kyoto, and it isn't being exploited to full potential yet.

Also, not EVERY arab drives a benz, I've worked over there, believe me, if you aren't in the small upper class, you aren't that well off.
