I just can't understand why they don't publish everything they know and give us hourly updates on the television.

We demand and deserve the right to know exactly what the government knows about the terrorists and the exact positioning and shift change times of our anti-terrorism forces!

Sometimes it almost seems folks are that foolish.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Toad,

You are far closer to the mark than you know. More than once a suspect has been able to tune into the news and see the positions Officers were taking on a barricade situation. The media wants to do pretty much the same thing in the middle east if hostilities break out. Then we can all see just what and where things are happening real time. saddumb won't need any satelite intel, cnn, fox, abc, cbs, etc.  will provide it.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I think we should go back to the media controls used in WW1. The first day of the Battle of the Somme was reported as a 'great success', but conveniently overlooked the 20,000 British dead and the 30,000 wounded for about 3 inches of ground gained. Everything was going swimmingly, and it was just a coincidence that whole streets would be missing a father, a son, an uncle.

Clearly a balance has to be struck.
War! Never been so much fun. War! Never been so much fun! Go to your brother, Kill him with your gun, Leave him lying in his uniform, Dying in the sun.
