Freaking great idea!

I can see it now too - P-38s doing rolls into dead engines, point rolls, formation fly-bys, all that cool stuff!

Set a date! Set a date!

Ohhh - we need an airshow boss - he could organize and coordinate the fly-bys / events on a privvy radio channel and broadcast the event on the purple channel. (Snafu, hold at V54... Beefcake, bring in the 17s now ... P38 display team, you're next - get ready) Here they come folks - The Beefy B-17 Display Team....

Even demo shows of force as bombers drop bombs alongside the runway, etc.

I say we do it!

Yeah, and maybe NATEDOG & SUPERFLY, if they have some spare time, could build a little carnival area next to the designated field - kind of like a one time of the year terrain download.  We could call it "The Aces High Air Show & Carnival".  It could run for a week with 'fly through the hanger' contests, and the canyon race!  You could build little bleachers in this special terrain along the race route on the canyon floor, a bleacher for each country, complete with special 'Fan' icons - we could watch the race!

- hmm, need more sleep...

Cool idea, Torque

Swoop, great idea to have all the spectators bail from the runway.  We have to do it now.

Everybody start practicing, get a routine together.  I know we have a few aerobatic pilots around here - here's your chance to show your stuff.  I'll see what me and Beefy can come up with in the B-17's.

Of course at the end of the show we'll have to bomb all the guys on the ground.

Don't forget air races, mock dog fights (!), formation areobatics, battle re-enactments, climbing races, mm and gunnery challanges

I've been asking for smoke for some time now! Tried to get them to add it for training purposes, but my real motivation was for aerobatics   Smoke from each wingtip, and different colors. An aerobatics comp./airshow would be a blast. How about get them to add some pylons as well and have some races! If you really want to get crazy, just add some strong winds at one of the fields for some harry crosswind landings and a hovering contest! We did this in DoA aero comp, was a lot of fun trying to hover around in a certain pattern then land it on a certain spot, not 'realistic' by any means, but a lot of fun!

Once we get the terrain editor I'm sure somebody could build a cool terrain with all the 'fixins' for such and event, I certainly hope so.

If something happens and I get an account, I'll see if I can do some high speed passes and aerobatics in the 190-A5. I'd also like to see a parachute demonstration ala Golden Knights. Be sure to get the show on film so it can be saved forever.
