I jes yell out, "You're dead!" Or, "Bah, ya got me!" :D:D

I've driven enough peeps into the ground so I cant complain. ;) TA is great tho for landing, bombing runs and just a general chase and run scenario. Doesnt sound like much but it's an immense help.

I was around for the vulch days and I can say, it wasnt pretty. Lotsa squabbling and bs goin on. Now ya cant get too many kills but it is better that way. Kills in TA dont mean jack anyway.

zrooster,

I haven't been around in a while...especially in TA, but I'm pretty familiar with the problems...I was one of the original group of trainers and we did have problems...however we also had Cit (last flew as fester), RAM, Nath, Nash, DMF (leviathen) and a host of others furballing in the TA. Far as I'm concerned it was a great enviornment to learn in. I don't want to minimize the magnitude of the problem back then...was a MAJOR issue on BBS...but even so you could really learn alot.

My last time in the TA was 5-6 months ago and you had a bunch of dweebs gangbanging each other with no vets or trainers around...this was the same over 6-7 visits. I certainly understand the need to alter that situation...just making the observation that training without "live fire" is no training at all.

I appreciate what people are saying, but if you want something more realistic and don't want to be scored, head to the dueling arena.  Ask someone in the TA to join you, or find someone from one of the other arenas.  The DA is much more realistic since it offers normal ammo loads and fuel burn rates, plus you get to shoot at red icons, not green.  You also get normal damage so you can practice taking hits (yikes....) if you'd really like.

The current settings in the TA are meant to discourage those few people who insist on picking on people in the TA.  If you want to learn in a big furball, head over to the MA since the situations there are much more complex than they could be in the TA.  You can't hide in the TA forever since you really only get better by facing better pilots, not picking on new players.

zroostr, no need to call out "bang your dead"... the sound of pings does that for you.  I've used that technique in fights in the TA consistently with people and it works just fine.  It's a very good technique and allows you to break apart and remerge again.  It's not as silly as it sounds.

lol:D

I do think TA has it's worth. It's just not a place to get kills and when I first returned to AH I didnt like it but now I see the reasoning and have no qualms. Besides like I say, bein a king sh*t in TA does not correlate to bein the same in MA. I learned that real quick. So yes, DA is better for those that want to see the consequences of bad flying in enemy territory. Or if ya just wanna see how many pings it takes to go down. ;)
