Wingloading?

The P-38L has much higher wingloading than the Mosquito FB.VI does.

EDIT:

Why does the P-38L outclimb the Mossie by so much?  They are very similarly powered and weigh almost the same ammount, yet the P-38L climbs WAY better.

Seems the P-38 is the climber and the Mossie the turner.

For some reason, I only ever find you when I'm in a P-38, Mitsu.   :)  My main ride, however, is almost always the Spit V.  Both are tons of fun to fly.
