I just noticed that I'm getting killed consistantly by osti's more than anything else lately.  Is this happening to everyone else or am I just lucky?

I would have a decent K/D if  deaths by GV's weren't counted.

I believe so. So watchout A/C ... and osties watchout for tanks and M8s (M8 with AP can be nasty).

Mosgood:

No. In fact I can say I get killed by any a/c that points its guns at me when  I'm in an Ostie.
I get the drop on nme a/c as they strafe; I aim ahead of em as they pass to apply lead...no joy; not so much as a ping. I point my guns at em dead on as they dive down at me...no joy, and I die.
I don't understand it but, I have practically no success in an Ostie at all. On ocassion I get a kill from about 400 feet as they pass by me but, no more.

Something about Osties, and other manned guns, is the lag affect. You don't see this as much in fighters, I think because it's adjusted for. Planes are never where they appear to be, and with high lag they can be off an incredible amount, making them nearly impossible to kill.

Most of the time when a plane approaches, I see it suddenly jump from like 2500 yards to between 1200 and 700. Another way I see lag is when the plane drops a bomb, I sometimes get killed by the bomb long before the plane reaches me (like 500 - 600 yards out). There have been times when I got jabo killed to see the plane drop the bomb or pass by after I got dumped back to the tower ( with no other planes in the area).

Some nights I can get a lot of manned gun kills, and on other nights fight off hordes of straffing planes for an hour without getting a kill.
