Maybe it's me, but this seemed too easy. Is there a hook modeled on non-carrier capable aircraft?

Oh yes I live in Washington State so I can say with firm conviction that Boening made a carrier version of the B-17. It was the very rare B-17W. The W designation of course was for water. They had early problems with the tail hook interfering with the tail gunners view when retracted. This was solved by adding a manual system of operation. The tail gunner would just push a boat anchor out a small door in the rear of the plane. Beautiful shot of a very rare bird. I think this photo was taken in the Gilligan Island operation. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Those are just stolen Boeing ideas, sorry. Notice the boat anchor.

Can we also take-off in B-25's?
I saw once picture of CV having deck full of B-25C's, although, they were only supposed to takeoff and land to land base

Hey who said " I dare you to take off a B26 from the CV?"

Here's the film

Doolittle's Takeoff

Was with 25% fuel and 20 100lbs full flaps, taxied all the way back to the end with engine controlls and differential brakes.

I tried afterwards 50% fuel and 8 500lbs it works too

its not too hard to get the 26 off a carrier, ive done it with 25% fuel, all 1k's and wasnt too difficult, didnt even have to taxi way back.

I dropped a B17 on the deck of the CV last week and stopped it and just for the heck of it tried to take off again.  It was pretty easy.  Of course I was empty and low on fuel also.  I turned on the film recorder and was going to film it again, but alas, as I was approaching to land again, some joker turned the CV and I was swimming
