I see cloud - you see cloud?

Are clouds the same for everyone?   That is to say, are the clouds host controlled (i.e. we all see the same clouds the same size and in the same positions)?

yup, clouds are the same, but not sure how each of our systems renders the cloud(s). The clouds are in the same places for all of us.

I have noticed that you can see contact through the clouds when they are outside of icon range. strange.

Was looking at the forum of "another flight sim".  They are discussiong how clouds are rendered on each individuals front end, not by the host.   So one player will assume himself to be in the clouds, while at same time another player will see him out of clouds on his front end.

"Cloud cover is a known issue. They are not host controlled and are not sync'd between every player. Until there is a way to procure enough bandwidth to update every player in the arena with the exact content, movement and location of every aspect of the clouds there is no way to effectively sync them (so that everyone sees the exact same cloud cover at the same time. "

So figured i would ask.  A plus for AH then

As a follow-up:

They also (in that other game) are wondering about 100% bullet lethality.  Evidentally every bullet is not modeled or counted there.  I believe in AH each bullet counts, am i right?

of course, i do not for sure, but understanding is that the bullets/cannons are modeled for weight, velocity, and drop off. You will notice that american .50's shoot very straight and don't drop too much while some cannons are hard to hit with as you fire on more distant targets.

Clouds are the same for all, not that you could really call them clouds in that 'other sim' more like a smear of a texture at 10,000ft. AFAIK HTC has modelled every bullet, weight and velocity since day one.
