Bigtime Problem...
« on: March 14, 2003, 10:23:37 PM »
This new patch has been a huge headache for me.  Ever since I downloaded it, I have had some trouble with it.  First it was the water tiles, but the newest patch took care of that.  Unfortunately, I still have a problem that seemed to arise from installing the 3rd patch.  My joystick, a logitech wingman 3d extreme joystick doesnt work anymore.  I checked it out, tried calibrating it, and it wont work.  In flight, it will make the plane climb up and to the left. Its only 3 months old, but I figure there is the possibility that it can be broken.  So I tried playing ah with a mouse, and I get the same exact problem.  The mouse is set at a slow speed, but the plane still climbs up and to the left, and it is extremely difficult to control....Someone please help me fix this.

Bigtime Problem...

Well The good folks at wal-mart took it back (even tho I owend it for about 3 months and had no reciept...hey it had a year warranty!)  I just set up my new one (logitech windman 3d extreme....different box this time!!!) and it seems to work fine.

On my old one, I used the logitech calibration method, and it seems to me like the twisting device was off centered.  I tried doing the twist test (for rudders) and I noticed that it would not center, it stayed twisted about 15degrees to the right.  I am sure that was what the problem was.

I dont understand what you mean by select input....I calibrated the stick through aces high, and I programmed 5 of the 7 buttons on it...Is there anything else that needs to be done?

Thanks
