Looking for a game
« on: February 23, 2003, 11:33:45 AM »

I'm looking for an old DOS game called Populus and Populus 2.  I don't remember the developer and haven't had any luck finding on the net?

Anyone have an idea where I might be able to score a copy of these games?

Much Thanks!!

Bullfrog developed them, with Peter Molyneux at the helm. He's the same guy who has formed Lionhead Productions which recently developed 'Black and White', and is working on its sequel.

I'm sure you can get both Populous and Populous 2 legally - they are very old.

Bullfrog's best game was Powermonger, if you ask me. My favourite game on the Amiga 500 and waaay ahead of its time.

Modas, try http://www.the-underdogs.org/ - it's THE site for abandonware.

Or look for an amiga emulator. Most of the games run quite well and the Amiga version was always the best! Been just playing "Wings" & "Rocket Ranger" again - the new Cinemaware is a shame to its namegiver!!!

hmm - just did a search myself...

Popoulus is not downloadable but you can get it within this compilation legally (for about 9USD):

EA Compilation:
Chuck Yeager's Air Combat, Space Hulk, Hong Kong Mahjong Pro, Wing Commander Academy, Savage Empire, Seven Cities of Gold, Populous II, Ultima VII: The Black Gate, ShadowCaster and Ultima Underworld (#1)

---

Powermonger oth is downloadable... :)

You guys remember Megalomania - that was fun too!!

'Wings' and 'It came from the Desert' were true Cinemaware masterpieces.
