donahue was just plain stupid , he bugged his eyes out, waved his arms, and said stupid things, i think the EPA had donahue removed cause he pouluted the air waves.

donahue was canceled because his ratings were really bad, TV is a for profit business.

It's 1981, you are sitting there in the front room and the babysitter has gone to call her boyfriend without bothering to change the channel- Donahue is on.

It's not so bad, compared to the regular nonsense they let free...even if you oppose him, and who besides Ted Kennedy doesn't, he's a hell of an alternative to the usual.

If a show with a conservative leaning had Donahue's crapola ratings it would have been canceled months ago.  They let him stay until there were no ratings left to lose.  If I was a stockholder in MSNBC I would be pissed.   An informercial for ginsu knives would have gotten higher ratings than his 70's retread liberalism.

Thanks for showing how easy it is to prove something by assuming it from the start.  But you reminded me of something.  There is the matter of Chris Matthews's MSNBC show, "Hardball" - which has rated as low or lower than Donahue as of late.  If his show is liberal leaning, then you can call me Che Guerva.  I wonder when his time is up.

His time should be up soon if he doesn't get his ratings out of the cellar.  He is different from Donahue in that he once had decent ratings.  He may not be liberal (on his show) but he is not conservative.  Che.

You may have missed it while in the revolutionary trenches, senor Guerva, but before broadcasting Matthews ran for the house in Pennsylvania on the Democratic ticket.

Is Che Guerva a relative of Che Guevara or is it a bar he used to drink at or what?

Matthews? He worked for Democrats on Capitol Hill, wrote speeches for Jimmy Carter, and was one of Tip O'Neill's top aides. He got his start in journalism at the New Republic under the aegis of then-editor Hendrick Hertzberg.

You make the call.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Oh, I am aware of his past contributions to the Democrats.  But I am talking about his show.  I can only go by what I saw the times I caught it the past few years, and "liberal leaning" is about the last thing that crossed my mind.  Actually, it didn't cross my mind at all.  You get the idea.

Hannity and Colmes is the same format as all the "debate" shows, starting with Crossfire.  They get two of the most extreme people they can so that no matter your views one of the two will be so far off the other end of the spectrum you will yell at the tv and watch their ads.

Those are hardly news shows, more of a prime time Springer show.

che is conservative next to weazel and erikong.... would be a step up for them.  mathews, now that is funny...  the closest he ever came to right leaning was when he would pretend for a second or two that he was impartial.
