Loss of Throttle/Precision 2
« on: February 26, 2003, 12:15:50 PM »
I run XP Pro, and I use a Precision 2 joystick.

I can't calibrate the joystick in windows, there is no option, only test it.

I can't calibrate the joystick in game.  When I do, it doesn't save the settings, and the joystick no longer works.  After talking with HiTech, we think this is because xp pro automatically sets files to "read only" and you can't change these, or at least we don't know how to.

I just re installed the game, did not calibrate the Joystick, and played.   I've since started flying with others, and we've noticed that flying the same loadouts, I'm MUCH slower than they are.  This is taking of at the same time, and autoclimbing with the same settings.

I'm guessing it's because I can't fly full throttle.  Is there any way to test this, and if that is the problem, to fix it?

go to control panel, click on gaming options, then on properties. you should see a tab called settings, the calibrate option should be there. that's how it works in win2k, should be the same for you.
