When The war is over
« on: March 02, 2003, 07:59:31 PM »
Hi Guys,

Does anyone know what happens, score wise, when you are in the air and suddenly "The war has been won by the xxx" appears on the text. Then you check the map and find that you are a million miles away from a friendly field and no fuel.

I was told you have to wait until the server resets? How is it scored? When is it scored? At the reset or  when the war is won?

Thanks, Your Friendly score(less)potato.:D

Any flight that is still in the air when the server resets is classed as a landed sortie.

not in my experience.... my flights do not count at all if I am in the air... do not go on my score at all.

If I find myself deep in enemy territory, I look at it as a gift and start strafing anything unprotected.

If I find myself in the depth of enemy territory, I head to the nearest enemy field hoping there is no dar bar :)
Then I kill the vh ack and land in the vehicle hanger - get a "you landed succesfully" message and laff :)

Recently I was in a 262 when the war was won. I hightailed it to the nearest friendly base...a carrier. My first landing with a 262 on a carrier...I rolled all the way to the end where my nose wheel diped down ever so slightly, all the while I was standing on the toe brakes.

I was so proud of myself that I called out over squad channel and boasted of my skillz...only to hear Whels say, "You didn't have to do that Lars, just fly 'till the reset and you'll get a successful landing".

Oh well, live and learn I guess.
