AW community starting with a 'bang'?
« on: March 26, 2001, 07:54:00 AM »
Took the week end off from the 'boards' as I do every week-end and this morning it looks like alot of 'bang' going around....I'm wondering if the AW crowd is going to make a graceful, modest entry into AH or if they want to portray themselves as 'controversial, "hello-I'm-Here-Notice-me-now-or-I'll-Hate-You"....

Either way, welcome guys! Hope you enjoy the sim!

Edit: Oh, and alot of us have our roots in AW as well, personally dating back to 1989, but there are some that go back further! Addicted for life, all because of AW!

Hiya Ripsnort. Most of the guys (and gals) who do will do it as well as anyone else. The aftermath of this weekend that you see on these boards is the by-product of only a few disgruntled AWiers that don't have any intent on moving over here. Keep in mind what happend with EA and I think this weekend will just be seen as an ugly  bump in the normal course of events here.

We can all go back to talking about the uber Hispanos and neutered LW guns now

We battled back Sunday morning, had 1/2 the map, but soon the number were:
Bish 91
Rooks 57
Knights 44

Not much you can do about that!

Was telling brady last night different times the knights kick ass.  When I first logged on we had a ton of terr and were taking more terr as the day went by, then the influx of bish and rooks and we were outnumbered 3-1.  I logged back on quite a few hours later we had 6 bases left, when I left last night they had 3 bases, was funny hearing the guys with experience yelling wtf are you guys doing?  the sit was hopeless the numbers weren't with us and no one really cared about defending.

Dude, I am with Rip on this one.We might have our differences me and rip, such as me being a skinny dude with horns on my forehead and him being a big muscular dudes, lacking sexy chick magnet horns (I can even say "I'm horny" without making it sound corny), but....

KNIGHTS NEVER SURRENDER. WE FIGHT BACK.

Often I hear "who got the resest" from some of my fellow knights. It gives me gerat pleasure to say "we fought back, and kicked sand in their faces"

Come get some Bishrook.

I was on late Friday.. the numbers were:

Bish 19
Rooks 37
Knits 39

The main difference Friday night was that rooks and knits were completely ignoring each other.

Santa I tried flying with you guys the other nigth and I stayed up way to late, 5 A.M. my time, I find if I stay up way to late to get that last flight in I just plain old suck.  I dont know if they got the reset but it was pretty hopeless last night.  Had a fun time yesterday when Whels joined up on rw with us and help us take a base "also gave us the cv as well".  Numbers were not in our favor we tried a couple back door ops that kind of pissed the rooks/bish off.  Would have worked on 1 of the 2 but the VH didn't fall in first pass like it was suppose to.  and a zeke was not suppose to be flying at 200 ft searching for me in my goon.  Oh the what ifs.  i will continue to fly for the Knights for I don't like teams with large numbers and I love catching the 5 guys chasing one bomber.  They scrap for kills we just go out point and click.

By the way... there's a whole lot of new people on even if they aren't AW players.

I think I heard "what the hell is this guy doing?" about 50 times on squad RW last night.

There was definately some learning going on

Hey Sturm,

Yea, I was up way past bedtime last night, trying to help get 51.  Went in there once in a Ju88 with a few of my squaddies from the 332nd.  Managed to get barracks, radar, ammo and fuel down, plus about 6 acks down while a few JABOs in the area busied whatever was on the ground.  As I was landing the Ju88, no one killed the remaining acks, so 2 M3s sat there.  Tried to scurry back in a Lancaster to down the hangars and remaining acks but I opted for speed over alt/climbing so I took a lotta hits bombing low.  Make a long story short, jsut couldnt get 51.  Too many off furballing.  I stuck to defending and when it got down to being vulched on the runway, it was bed time for me.  Damn nice try to those that opted to assist.  51 would have been a nice capture if just one more Knit had downed them acks to let the M3s in. =sigh=

Popped on during lunch and see we are down in that lower left corner we hate so much.  Only had 4 or 5 bases and I managed to get a few eggs off to 14 before a defending Nik clobbered my BB-gun equipped Ju88    Be interesting to see how the game evolves when I sign on this evening!

As to RW...works fine here, don't have it set up in Aces and using one of my squaddies IPs/server.  If there are better programs available, please pass the word along.
