ya,,,my cousins had a 4 barrel carb,,3 inch exhaust,,it was a 13b,,could get about 9,000 rpm out of the motor,,was very impressive,,fast,,,drove for years,,but!!,,it didnt have the life span it should have,,,they allways blow that main seal,,there big down fall,,othere than that, they get great gas milage,,there fast,,and light,,just expensive to work on and they dont got the life span that a 4 stroke motor does
i was thinking of ways to get the rotary motor to last longer,,,sence crude oil is hard on the motor to burn and lube the rotary,,i told my cousin we should block the oil tubes that feed the crude oil into it,,and mix the gas with much better burning and lubing 2 stroke oil,,,of cource we never tried it,,but it was a very good idea if some one had the time to do it,,,sence rotary is pretty much a 2 stroke,,it would boost horse power a little i think,,,and make it last longer,,,but who wants to mix there gas all the time?,,hehe,,it would smoke,,but crude oil smokes too,,and the rotary doesnt need much mixing too keep it alive,,just a funny idea i had one day,,while we were over talking about motors
but after his motor blew for the 4th time sence he owned it,,,{rodding it of cource},,lol,,its a 1981 i beleve,,he had it for a long time now,he is going to put the 302 conversion kit in it,,,with 300 horse summit motor,,gives him more power to play at,,and only half the price of a new rotary motor,,and twice the horses,,with only a 150lb diffrence,,doesnt even squash the springs at all,,and still handles like its on rails,,comes down to cost and power somtimes,,lol
