I placed an Ad in the Sunday paper for a technical support position. I asked for Salary Requirements with Resume to be faxed and or Emailed and please no phone calls!!!... Part of my test is on how well a prospective employee follows direction's...
By monday at 10:00AM EST I had 150 resumes..... No chit....
Extremely good turnout considering I usually get about 20 tops
Also by 11:00AM I had 20 phone calls from said prospective employee's asking me if I had recieved their Resume's...
one of the callers argued with me about why he refused to put salary requirements...He didn't make the pile...
So:
After the 20 that called and the 90 that refused to put salary
requirements I am down to 40+
My fellow department heads have all agreed to this approach and have said they do the same... I could not possibly meet with 150+ people due to time constraints..
So point being please follow directions when applying for a job there maybe reasons for the directions!
