Smoke and a list would be great as an indicator of damage, but I think a list might interfere too much with carrier deck operations for the defenders.  You put a couple of 1,000 pounders in a carrier and you'd remove it as a fighting force without actually sinking it.  I think that might impact gameplay a bit too much.  As it is, there aren't enough carriers in the game so I think weakening a carrier group even more might be a step in the wrong direction.  Smoke from the island would be good, though, and certainly immersive!

Saw that show last night on the History channel. Pretty interesting stuff! Saw one strip of film with the CV in the distance, and without realising it I had started to guess its range for the SB. Guess that makes me an addict LOL. I would also like to see burning, oil trails, smoke, etc on sea vessels once they are damaged. That would add some interesting new aspects of gameplay. Also would like to see one day a CV group for example 8 DD, 3 CA, 1 BB, and maybe 1 to 2 CV's. Maybe I could see that in the CT, but it sure would be a sight to see!

I'm still campaigning for player-controlled destroyers the PT boats we currently have.

I say add damageable systems on the CV's when ack is so lethal that suicide strikes have about a 5% chance of successfully hitting it.

Thats 1 in 20 suicide jabo's making it throught the ack screen

I don't think its about weakening it Gofaster. Its about visual indications of damage already done.

Player controled destroyers would rock
