Wingman Extreme Hat Switch Problem
« on: March 11, 2003, 07:23:00 PM »
I just purchased a wingman extreme joystick and cannot get my hat switch to show the views properly.  The only views I can get are left, right and back.  The 1/4 views will not work.  I tried to fix this with the Profiler program to no avail.  All views work fine with MS CFS.  If anyone has encountered this problem and figured a fix, please respond.  Your help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Going to assume first up that you've gone to joystick setup in AH (Setup>Joystick>Select Joystick) and assigned "Hat 1" (left column) on your Logitech to "POV 0" (right column).  If not, do that.

Then you may (or may not -- don't remember) need to actually assign a view to each position on the hat.  If just the above doesn't do it, go to the Stick Mapping screen (Setup>Stick Mapping).  Tick the View Keys box and assign to your preference ... i.e. Hat 1 LEFT to LOOK LEFT, Hat 1 RIGHT to LOOK RIGHT, Hat 1 DL to LOOK BACK LEFT, Hat 1 DR to LOOK BACK RIGHT, etc, etc, etc.

Should work fine from there.  Mine does, and I have the same stick (8 position hat, right?).

Dennis,
You are awsome.  Thank you very much.  It works great now, I can actually look all around without having to mess with the keypad.  Thank you!

and after that, assign some buttons to switch to stick set 2 and 3 and do the same for 8 views to look up and 8 views down  ;-)
