"JG-3 is "ALL AXIS - ALL THE TIME." When we can't get our German rides we fly Japanese. Let us know the time and place if you need help.
We got several of the old 27th Sentai guys on staff.
!"

Gonna get in trouble with the skipper for this, but..... Jester, couldn't help but see you and your squad decide to beat feet tonight.  In light of what you have posted above, I feel this is bad form.

I have highest respect for you and Lowe starting the Axis squad....hell you guys have done a lot for the CT environment, for both the Axis and the Allies....but to say your leaving because of "the planeset" ?? C'mon man!!  Zeke vs the Wildcat, with the occasional P40 thrown in....this planeset can't go anywhere else.

Fortunately, the numbers tonight were not absurdly lopsided...the allies enjoyed a slight advantage, but from what I saw, the IJN were giving as well as they got.  Just don't like to see a squad there "to support the CT" run and hide in the MA.

Respectfully,

Yea was mostly frustration talking.

You get that from watching 3 F4F's run from a single "Zeke" to a PT Boat and circle daring you to come in. Or flying down on a single con to engage and have 6 more seemingly "Appear" out of nowhere.

As for the plane set I will have to disagree with you there old buddy. They should be A6M3's and the "liberal" interpretation of the FM on the Wildcat needs looking at bad.

Brand me a "Luftwhiner" if you want.

We will probably be back flying Japanese come Thursday though.   ;)

Duke.

We beat feet after 4 sorties last night. Yes we're all Axis all the time. However I've never made it any secret I hold the A6M2 in total comtempt. I hate that plane no matter how hard I try, and how good an attitude I start my flight with I just can't do anything with that aircraft.
I hit several F4Fs hard and at close range last night a lil smoke and a few asst. I got nailed at 700+ once from an F4F , and that was enough. The F4Fs working in conjuction with the PT boats was just not my cup of tea.

Now I don't blame the guys for doing it, but at the same time don't blame me if I log off because I'm not going to play into their hands.  I still pay my own HTC bill , so I'll continue to decide for myself whats fun and whats not for me.

Yea I dont particulary care for the Zeke either ... not much for ammo after 20mm gone and its to slow.  Although in the spirit of the CT for a week I will put up with it.    Also, its been interesting watching the Allies over the week in the begining it was more 1v1 of course with the the Zeke comming out on top .. but as its progressed I am starting to see alot more Wildcats flying in groups.   Making it much more dificult to score a kill.

Last night saw some nice co-ordinated allied TBM attacks that looked pretty awsome.   Good job.

Hijacker, I was doing some thinking and....

Maybe we should wait till next week to do the squad duel thing.I have a couple of pilots that want to do this but are unable to make this thrs night.Besides Iam sure your guys as well as mine are having a good time in this PTO setup I would not want to have to spend a night away from this setup ,this is probally one of the best setups of all time now that the ships are back.

Please understand we want to duel you guys but lets wait till there is a non PTO event going on.Let me know what ya think.

BTW thrs are kinda of a bad night tues are better we have a couple that are iffy on thrs.

Also to JG3 if you guys want to team up for this duel feel free to just let me know what days and times are best for your guys. :)

Jester and Lowe

I hope you guys are in there thursday night...I have enjoyed flying with and against you, though I usually get my bellybutton handed to me in the latter:p

I too admit that I was a little frustrated after I read your TB post to brady about the planeset.  Yes, I know the A6M3 is supposed to be here, and the Wildcat FM may not be perfect, but we have what we have.

One thing I would like to point out, you talked about 1 guy chasing three ....don't know why the three would run, maybe the zeke had altitude, who knows....but why was it only one zeke?  Something I noticed last night, unless the zeke's were making straffing runs on our field, the dreaded V-word...I didn't see any coordinated wingman tactics.  It seemed they would come as singles and try to take on more than one wildcat at a time.  Two zeke's working in tandem is much more than a wildcat, or even two,can handle, especially if you have patience and can get the wildcat slow.

The zeke has to be flown smart, ammo conservation is a must, and I think is holding its own in this setup.

Look forward to seeing you guys thursday night!;)

Respectfully,
Duke

Thands Jospe, it was the Hellcats that did the TBM Mission, erg is getting real good at setting up the strike missions we do, and its good for once to hear someone say good things instead of the usual bs we get for doing our squad thing.  Thanks again Jospe we try to make it interesting in the ct glad you enjoyed it
