Slapshot or Revvin. Cougar help pls.
« on: March 14, 2003, 12:43:41 AM »
Dont mean to bother you both but I have a small favour to ask and wish to draw upon your Cougar knowledge if I may to complete my setup.

Im currently using Slapshots Profile which was modified from Revvins.  (See Below)

What I want to do is utilise my analog CH Pro Rudders as Rudders ingame.  Currently I believe this is done with the Range knob.  Ive added the rudders to the Cougar Control Panel but the rudder pedals are dead in game using the profile as it only sees the Range Knob as rudder.

What do I need to change to remedy this and utilise the CHPRO pedals as my rudders?

(Please keep in mind that I am a Cougar Moron. Explain it as if you were speaking to one :) ) Thanks. Any assistance appreciated.

Are you sure you mapped your pedals in the Aces High control panel? although that is a modified version of my original profile (allbeit an old version) the antenna command in the code posted above does what I mapped it to do ie zoom the gunsight and bombsight in. Check the joystick options in AH and make sure you assigned the right axis.

Not sure what the antennae has to do with it?

The range knob is the rudder axis in the profile.

However, now the mouse and the game move in slooooooooooow time and still no rudder on the pedals :(

Cant see where I map the rudder in AH and I can select the axis on the joystick tab and the key tab is mapped to J and K keys.

The Stick mapper doesnt allow me the option of selecting pedals or stick for rudder.

The HOTAS viewer shows the foot pedals as ZR axis but i cant seem to select that anywhere :(

When I reboot the system, the mouse seems to work and the game resumes normal speed.  The rudder pedals still do not work tho they show as ZR axis in the HOTAS Viewer and do work in the viewer.

However, when I return to the game from the viewer, the game resumes slowmo mode and the mouse is erractic and slow again.

Im assuming from the above that in that profile above, there is a line that needs to be removed, edited or added to fix the problem as the mouse works great out of the game.

Sorry misread your post, had just driven 450 miles and was a little tired. I still don't see where in that code the range knob does anything other than what I originally mapped it for ie. zooming the bombsight and map in. Did you download any other files with this profile such as a .TMC file? I've attached a pic of my Cougar Control Panel settings does this look like yours? also you don't say whether your rudders are USB or gameport, I assuem the latter as you refer to the CCP. If so you need to select them in the Aces High joystick control panel.

In Aces High my setup looks like the attached pic. If you notice the mouse is also a selectable controller in the list, if your rudders are USB then click on them and assign the axis in the window to the right when that devices axis are shown. If your rudders are gameport ones plugged into the Cougar then they should show up as the Z rotation like mine.
