Chairboy, no, the post is being broadly and exaggeratedly humorous as to the consequences of a loss in this war.  The terrorists are no more typical of folllowers of Islam than the Ku Klux Klan was typical of all white American Protestants.  But we must be careful not to let this war be cast as one against Islam, because it is not.

I don't consider it winnable.

I do consider it, dealing with reality.  Terrorism in america, or that affects american interests, is a reality that cannot ever be "won" against, unless you brainwash the entire world.  There will always be extremists who disagree with us and are willing to die to prove theri point.  

This war will have no end.  I'm fine with that.  Better than ignoring the problem.

Sure its winnable.  We do our best to win a "nice" war by following all the rules (we may or we may not win).  And if we don't, eventually we get sick of the toejam, and do everything that it takes to win.  Everything.
