SiD, I insist, due lack of fuel consumption nikkis, usually, fly with much less fuel than any other plane, except the P51. Much lighter = better power/weight ratio = better E retention and better E build up.

I have to agree with MrSid.

I fly the spit "almost" exclusively and I've been run down and out turned by almost everything.

I've included a film with a N1K where at the end, very low on the deck, if I didn't extend when I had the chance the N1K would've taken my tail off. As it was, the fight could've gone either way and I got lucky, shortening my circle with a verticle move and getting a snap shot. I don't think it was a damaging shot and he stalled into the water.

hehe, It seems SUPONGO fought with Blade yesterday...

He's one of best Spitfire Ace (He only loves Spit or RAF) and His career is much longer than me.
And he understands any dogfight.

It's really hard to kill him especially when he's in Spit9.

Salute,
Mitsu

S!

Blade is very good in his Spit IX.But as I have sometimes watched his fights from above,I discovered some things he does all over again.Usually he gets low and slow thus using the good slow speed characteristics of Spit. But as he does this and does very small circles and nice tricks,it takes only one pass to kill him. When he is that slow he has not very much E and if the bounce is right timed-->He's dead. That is the way I have managed to pick him off.Just wait until he is low&slow, get alt and bounce the crap outta his Spit  But in general in a co-alt/E fight he is VERY tough opponent to pick off.
