B K R's don't look so hot to me.  Chess pieces were cool, but hard to tell apart.   Maybe colored Chess pieces??

And while I'm at it... how about a top down default view of the map table.

my .02 aside, luv the patch.  Especially the clipboard map/fixes and the landing issue.

Hehehe you see black/white letters on the map? Thought I got a corrupt download or something. Had considered redownloading/installing from scratch...shewww! :)

I hated the old map room.  My slightly outdated computer's framerates dropped to 2-5 fps if I went into the map room on a large map like Pizza or Trinity.  Those little chess pieces were framerate killers.  Got to the point that I wouldn't bother viewing missions or checking strat stuff on the ground because I'd have to go through the map room.  

It might look a little hokey, but the map room is now usable for me.
