Iraq's oil wells
« on: March 17, 2003, 10:22:46 AM »
I was just talking to a Ex Marine while out side on a smoke break and he was telling me that the Iraqies have dug 20Ft deep shafts down next to the oil well so when they blow them as the americans come storming in they wont be able to cap'em as easily as we did in Kuwait!  Any one else hear this ?

I heard on the news trenchs were dug around certain key points in bagdad.  these trenches are speculated to be filled with oil and set ablaze to utilize the smoke as a shield.

except that the smoke from those nasty things doesn't know enough to just hang out in Iraq and do it's job..

but if we take any action to put them out, we're there for the oil.

blowing up your own oil wells, what a pathetic gesture, in the end the fires will be put out and saddam " butcher of bagdad" will be dead.

Republic of Iraq, sounds good huh?

Well i dont think any of you understood the true nature of the question i posed so ill do it again.
durring Dessert strom the Iraqies blew the "tops" of the Oils wells off.  Still hard to put out and cap but ,
Now what they have done is dig 20 ft deep hole next to the wells so when they blow these well its gonna be a hell of a lot harder to try and cap em!

Apparently he's also bought numerous gps frequency jamming units from the North Koreans.  Nuts of a feather fly together.

A big truckload of rocks & concrete would probably cap em.

Lots of lost oil though.
