Wonder how the know which one is the "real" one to begin with though. Is he the guy that just met Dan Rather or was that a double?

Toad , I think the real Saddam appeared on the 1992 milk cartons:D

I think the Dan Rather was a double that interviewed the real Saddam!

CBS: 'Senior Officials' Think Saddam May Not Have Survived
Thu Mar 20 2003 10:33:00 ET

"I am being told by several senior officials not to take that taped speech Saddam gave last night as proof that he survived the attack," CBS NEWS reporter David Martin said on air.

"They say the evidence that put him in the bunker last night was very reliable, and they are confident that the cruise missiles and bunker-busting bombs that were fired at that bunker last night hit the target. So now, intelligence experts are studying the tape to determine if it is really Saddam, or a body double which he is known to use from time to time. And they are running a computerized voice analysis, comparing that speech with known recordings of Saddam's voice. But that's a process that takes awhile. So we may not have a quick answer."

"There is considerable belief in this government that they may, in fact, have gotten Saddam."

i've seen better "saddams" on sat night live, he didn't even shoot his rifle into the air, the sadam i know is confident and arrogent, that man last night looked like a high school teacher reading a class asignment,
on the other hand, saddam is under a lot of stress, (see hitler defending berlin in his bunker) and could be taking meds for stress.  time will tell.

I heard on the radio today that the rumours of Tarik Asis being dead had something to do with finding Saddam.

They say that when Tarik Asisi appeared at the press conference to show he was alive,  US special forces tracked him back to a meating with Saddam afterwards.

hmm seeing the latest, washed out version of Saddam had to be almost as demoralizing as his loyalists thinking he was dead

I don`t know how insane he really is - he might just want to duke it out to the end. If I were Saddam, I`d get a shave and a quick face job, and go to a Jordanian refugee camp for a while, before chilling in Papua New Guinea or somesuch.
