Hit by enemy small arms fire
Hit by friendly fire
Hit by enemy large caliber fire
Ran over by friendly tank
Ran over by enemy tank
Stepped on landmine
Hit by helicopter rotor
Hit by enemy grenades
Hit by friendly grenade
Ammo storage explosion
Noxious fumes from exhaust malfunction
Hit by falling debris from building

Theres a million ways to die in a combat zone, and its not some mortal sin to be curious as to the cause of death.

Where did you hear this? Don't they differenciate between accident related deaths, friendly fire, and combat?

Or do they lump them all under the "combat" category?

Noxious fumes from exhaust malfunction? How often do soldiers die from that?
