Dont be daft, everyone knows the Brits take hot presses and mobile steam power supplies to war .  Gotta have the creases in the right place when you're facing the enemy dontchaknow.

Yanks bring BBQ's and crates of coke instead.

I'd the the best test of any officer is how many of his men come home unscathed after achieveing the unit objective.

I really don't give a hoot about how well he speecifies. The question is can he train and lead men into battle and bring them home again.

IMO.

Brits should be happy that our Leaders are the way they are. For example...

General Patton's Address to the Troops, June 5, 1944

http://www.rightwingnews.com/speeches/patton.php

a few lines
Quote
General Patton
I don't want to get any messages saying, "I am holding my position." We are not holding a whoopeeed thing. Let the Germans do that. We are advancing constantly and we are not interested in holding onto anything, except the enemy's balls. We are going to twist his balls and kick the living toejam out of him all of the time. Our basic plan of operation is to advance and to keep on advancing regardless of whether we have to go over, under, or through the enemy. We are going to go through him like crap through a goose; like toejam through a tin horn!

and yet they still wipe their tulips with their fingertip and use the tiny bit of toilet paper to then wipe off their finger and wipe under the nail..

somethin is just outta wack there.

maybe they could steam clean their bellybutton and go creaseless.

just a suggestion.

:D  heh, good one.

but I feel I need to point out that it's the Officers that get the presses and multiple reams of toilet paper, it's the squaddies that get 1/2 a roll per 100 men and no presses.....and then get beastings for not having creases in the right places and toejam stained trigger guards.

Swoop, is it true then that "pull my finger" originated as a means to cleanliness amongst the other ranks?

Nah, we only ask the officers to do that.

Oh and anyone from the Army Catering Corps.

Returning to the subject for a second here.

Is this better?

The Queen:

May your mission be swift and decisive, your courage steady and true, and your conduct in the highest traditions of your service both in waging war and bringing peace.

My thoughts are with you all, and with your families and friends who wait at home for news and pray for your safe return.

At this moment in our nation's history, I would like to express my pride in you, the British service and civilian personnel deployed in the Gulf and in the vital supporting roles in this country and further afield.

I have every confidence in your professionalism and commitment as you face the challenges before you.

Naaa  the Brits have been fighting longer then us and have that stiff upper lip thingy going.  We are a bit more amatuer in this sort of thing. They sound so cool like that like just another day in the office.

Gotta love the UK they have this sounding like a warrior thing down pat.

We are learning  ;)

No one said the British didn't win wars.

Curval just used "Cowboy" in a derogatory way and some people took offence to it.

No he didnt.

he said the second sounds like a cowboy.

How is that derogatory?  As Hang pointed out, you ARE cowboys.
