I fly in helicopters for a living. All of our pilots are ret. military helo pilots, my boss (owns the company) is a ret Lt Col. who comanded and flew the AH-64A's in the 101'st. I have done some pretty amazing things in helicopters and saved a lot of lives because of the ability to set down in any 50x50 foot clearing. But a year ago, dam exactly a year ago we lost one of our helos, killed the pilot and the medic, flight nurse was back at work as soon as he got the cast off his leg. The crash was caused by flying over a large body of calm water, and losing track of altitude. (pilot error). The pilot that was flying was retired army oh58 scout pilot with more than 10,000 hrs in helos, and 30 years of experience in every corner of the world. Just goes to show that watermelon happens, even to the best
