Something I've noticed about AH globally
« on: March 19, 2003, 02:29:58 PM »
I've been working from home the last couple of days recovering from illness and this has allowed me to log on to AH at different times.  I've noticed some trends based on the AH pilot community and the time.

9am to 11am Eastern US time - The percentage of Spitfires and N1K2s per population shows a dramatic increase, whereas the ratio of Bishops to Rooks to Knights is about even, tho still a Bishop numbers advantage.  I attribute this to the fact that its 9pm to 11pm in the far east with a fair number of Aussie and Japanese players logged on, flying the best planes of their respective countries.  The numbers of LA-7s and P-51s seems to fairly low, right around the same level of use as P-38s, P-47s, F6Fs, and Corsairs.  MA numbers are right around 200 players.

11am to 3 pm Eastern US time - Europe is logging on and the Bishop population numbers spike sharply.  The German aircraft start to be more prevelant, along with LA-7s and P-51Ds.  If Bishops are going to win a map, this is when it starts.  The momentum kicks off now.  Lots of Typhoon and P-47s missions, which generate a response of fast interceptors - 109s, 109Ds, LA-7s.  MA numbers right around 350 to 450 players.

3pm to 1am Eastern US time - LA-7s and P-51Ds are prevelant, maybe moreso than the Spits and N1ks seen earlier.  Knights start to get some numbers right around 10pm and carry that population number until midnight or 1am.  If Knights are going to win, their momentum is starting to build to its peak right about now.  MA numbers grow to max right around 9pm Eastern and continue at high levels until midnight.

1am to 9am - I have no idea what happens during this time.  Maybe the Rooks finally win one.

MA numbers are 80-200, if the knights are about to reset a map they'll have the numbers till 3-4am.  I've ocassionally seen rooks do well during this time but it's still rare, sometimes all the countries have the same amount of players.
This is actually the time aussies login, 9am is already about 1am sydney time.
It's a good time to sneak goons, not many defenders.

You need to rework your time zones :)

9am EST = NZ 3am, Aussie 1am
11am EST = NZ 5am, Aussie 3am.

Most Aussie/NZ players would be on from around 11pm EST onwards during weekdays.

Actually the numbers of P-40's, Corsairs, and P-51's should be in similar numbers as the spits if that were really true.

You would think so, but actually there are very few P-51Ds (as compared to when the US is online).  Lots of Spit Vs, IXs, and N1K2s.

Oops!  I didn't have a map in front of me, so I made rough guess and accidentally added a few zones across the expanse of the Pacific. Doh!
