There's a Scottish guy that used to drink with us at the shed on Thursdays. He had a pretty thick accent. One afternoon:

Guy with his girlfriend: "Could you say something so my girlfriend can hear you talk?"
John: "**** you!"
Guy with his girlfriend:"See... isn't his accent cool."

Man... John was put off after that one. Right until I said "Don't get mad John, they've probably never heard an Irish accent before."

Hey Nexx - I read all the books before the Sharpe series was done, and it was actually quite a good interpretation. Although it suffered from lack of extras - the Waterloo episode in particular. Trying to use 200 extras and some creative camera work to show a battle that hundreds of thousands of combatants was a stretch too far.

Yeah his accent was strong in that one. Even though Sharpe in the book comes from the East End of London and should be a chirpy cock-en-ney. The Irish fella who played Harper was excellent though.

Gatso - Too right. I've only been to 2 games this season. They are generally awful and the players are over-paid nobs. It wouldn't be so bad if the Blades weren't doing so well!

The coolest accent by far that ive heard in AH is FOGOLD

He is from scotland and i really enjoy listening to him.

You guys should really hear him when he gets upset, cant understand a word but is sure is fun
