I'm with funkedup, Yeager, Sandman, and Dowding.

Last time I checked, what weazel posts isn't against the law.
Sometimes is it over the top? Sure it is (for most).
However one must ask do you favor freedom of expression under our present laws and rights? Yes or No?
No "Yes, I favor freedom of expression, but...." No buts. Either you do or you do not. So which is it? Mind you we aren't talking of his threatening anyone, suggesting the unlawful overthrow of our country, etc.
Much akin to burning our flag that would piss the vast majority of us off, that right is still guaranteed.
Threatening physical violence against an individual based on his posts to which you don't agree with might not be legal. THAT, I disagree with as you're attempting to infringe another's right to our most treasured right as free Americans.
Again, I am not saying you don't have a right to be upset against another individual because of what he writes as that's understood. Just can the threats, namecalling, and requests for banishment please.
Funkedup's got it 100% right-on, if you can't stand what another posts, then put him on your ignore list.
Regards
SaburoS

No he doesn't. He probably never will.

Time to act somewhat civil .
With all the tensions in the world today, we need our community to realize that we are an international community.

With that, an understanding must be reached, that the various people from around the world may not agree with any given position voiced in this forum.

We are sensitive to that and make every attempt to allow discussions to run their course. As with anything regarding politics or religion we expect heated debates, but there are boundaries and lately they have been crossed.

I do not care if you are never a customer of mine again, there are some things that are not debatable. Laughing at the death of any human being is not acceptable behavior. Anything that crosses over the line of basic decency will not be tolerated. If you have to ask what that means, then you should not be posting in this forum, at this time.

We purposely let behavior be much more slack in the O'Club than any other place on this board, but it is time to bring it up a level gentlemen.

Free speech rights does not exist on private BBs. So you might want to knock off the "he is just using his right to free speech"-crap.

Funny how people get it confused, the only right to free speech that exists on this BBS is to the owners of this BBS. Free speech is only protected in a public forum(public meaning government sponsered).

Didn't say it was. What I find ironic are that some people who figuratively wrap themselves in the flag and proclaim to be patriotic and pro-American are the first to espouse the banning of another individual. Do you understand the irony? Are our rights of free speech guaranteed here? Don't think so. Is it legal to threaten another with bodily harm? Probably not, but then I'm just guessing.
Let's look at the "law" as Dale has laid out in his forum:
"....Anything that crosses over the line of basic decency will not be tolerated. If you have to ask what that means, then you should not be posting in this forum, at this time."
Basic decency also includes namecalling, threats, etc., at least how I understand it. Do you understand it?
BTW, flame away if that's what you need to resort to. In the meantime, I'll try to show you the respect of some decency in trying to keep our debate/argument civil, whether I agree with your opinion or not.
I'll defend another's rights, even those that I disagree with. I even wrote an email to HTC regarding Hortlund's banning awhile ago - I never got a response though.
No need to get heated up to the point of threats, namecalling, etc. It's not like this BBS is going to have a real influence over our real world anyway.

We're missing the forests for the trees. Let's keep the decency please.

Look if you think what weazel posted, and not just the pics themselves but also the meaning, is just fine then so be it. But people dont simply cross the line by using foul words, and weazel has juust done that in my opionn. As for the irony of banning people or asking they be put on probation for posting stuff well dale has set out his rules anf I feel weazel has violated them - im calling him on it.

Then let Dale and the others at HTC decide the decency issue of anyone's pics/posts. If they feel he is out of line then they'll first put him on probation, then if he continues against their wishes, they'll ban him. Two wrongs don't make a right. If someone posts something one disagrees with then argue the message/issues, don't "kill" the messenger by resorting to threats of violence and name calling. That would not be the decent thing to do. If the temper gets the better of one's ability to control his/her reactions, then they should just use the 'ignore' option.

If you feel another has "crossed the line" of decency, do you really feel your "crossing the line" in response is going to help your argument? Be the bigger individual. Argue the facts/message. Leave the decency issues up to HTC.
