looking for new video card
« on: March 30, 2003, 01:17:01 PM »
Hi all, thinking of upgrading my video card now, my new memory is on order thinking of getting new video card after speding time at nvidia website and relizing my card sucks lol. It does work good with AH but not other games. Right now Im using NVIDIA GF4 MX 64mb looking for a upgrade. Would like to spend 100-200bucks. Any suggestions? Also I have DDR memory do I have to get a DDR video card or do they have nothing to do with each other. My system is Dell 8250 2.4 gig 512DDR memory OSxp.

Found a ATI 9000 128mb for 70$ on ebay are they any good or would be about the same as i got plus 64mb?

The 9700 is clocked slower than the 9700Pro, and has slower ram, making it difficult to clock up to the 9700Pro's levels.

The 9700Pro is the faster version of the 9700.

The 9700Pro AIW (Al-in-wonder) contains a TV tuner, video in and out.  Useful for watching DVD's on your computer, transferring movies from one medium to another.

The 9700Pro retail price dropped to $299.00 a couple of weeks ago.  The regualr 9700 is cheaper and the All-in-wonder is more expensive, but I have not looked at any of those cards prices.
