Edwin Starr dies aged 61 :-(

Well I liked him..... Still touring right up until the end. Edwin Starr died of a suspected heart attack at home early yesterday morning

Most will only remember him for his 1970 Vietnam Protest Hit "WAR!" (No 1 in US, No3 in UK). It was due for a re release but not sure now.

He moved from the US to the UK about 30 years ago and lived about 2 miles from me up until he moved to Nottingham a few years ago. His Limo (The size of a small bus) was a regular although strange sight cruising around the country lanes in the UK.
