Fireworks at Disneyland Paris

French Ban Fireworks at  Disneyland , Paris  (AP) The French Government
announced today that it is enforcing a ban on the use of fireworks at
Disneyland Paris .  The decision comes the day after a nightly fireworks
display at the park, located just 30 miles outside of Paris, caused
soldiers at a nearby French army garrison to surrender to a group of Czech
tourists .
:p

This is from Dennis Miller.

All the rhetoric on whether or not we should go to war against Iraq has got
my insane little brain spinning like a roulette wheel. I enjoy reading
opinions from both sides, but I have detected a hint of confusion from some
of you.

As I was reading the paper recently, I was reminded of the best advice
someone ever gave me. He told me about the KISS method ("Keep it Simple,
Stupid"). So, with this as a theme, I'd like to apply this theory for those
who don't quite get it. My hope is that we can simplify things a bit and
recognize a few important facts.

Here are 10 things to consider when voicing an opinion on this important
issue:

1) President Bush and Saddam Hussein.....Hussein is the bad guy.

2) If you have faith in the United Nations to do the right thing, keep this
in mind. They have Libya heading the Committee on Human Rights and Iraq
heading the Global Disarmament Committee. Do your own math here.

3) If you use Google Search and type in "French Military Victories," your
reply will see a series of humorous search results.

4) If your only anti-war slogan is "No war for oil," sue your school
district for allowing you to slip through the cracks and robbing you of the
education you deserved.

5) Saddam and Bin Laden will not seek United Nations approval before they
try to kill us.

6) Despite what some seem to believe, Martin Sheen is NOT the President.
He plays one on T.V.

7) Even if you are anti-war, you are still an "Infidel" and Bin Laden wants
you dead, too.

8) If you believe in a "vast right-wing conspiracy," but not in the danger
that Hussein poses, quit hanging out with the Dell computer dude.

9) We are not trying to liberate them.

10) Whether you are for military action or against it, our men and women
overseas are fighting for us to defend our right to speak out. We all need
to support them without reservation

I know they are old but still worth a laugh.

Their victory in the American Revolutionary War of 1776-1783 is the one that counts.

WHAT?

gee thanks, France.. for equipping the indians and inciting them to slaughter american women and children all across our frontiers 10 years before the revolution. in fact, the taxation the british demanded the american colonists to pay for defending them against french agression LED to the revolution in the first place.

gee, thanks; to the King of France, for sitting on his wide fat haunches while we kicked off the revolution, froze our butts at valley forge and finally came back to kick Burgoyne's bellybutton at Saratoga. THEN France finally came in.. and only then because it was in the French Kings best intrest to do so... and we had demonstrated that we could indeed stand and face a british army in the field and defeat it.. without outside help.

Miko, the 'french contribution to americas revolution' should be considered as nothing more than it really was.. a French Monarchy helping out French Imperial Intrest...  and it was the least that toady frog faced monarch coulda done after the hideous slaughter of helpless americans wrought by his most french excellency in the French and Indian wars.

we owe the french nothing... and as a frenchman would say 'ou contraire'.. they owe us for concept of tossing a monarchy for THEIR revolution; tho they managed to turn that into the most savage bloodletting ever seen in the process of creating a 'republican' state.

By my count.. the french aid to our revolution atoned for the french and indian war atrocities. barely. That leaves France down by three.. WWI, WWII, and the Cold War.

Pay up, creeps.
The price of Freedom is the willingness to do sudden battle, anywhere, any time and with utter recklessness...

...at home, or abroad.
