Preon1: a person who is liberal: as a : onw who is open minded or not strict in the observance of orthodox, traditional, or established forms or ways.

I dare say that miko qualifies.  What's your definition of liberal?

That depends what you consider "orthodox, traditional, or established forms or ways". I am much closer to the conservatives - paleoconservatives, as they are called. In fact I am beyong just a modern "conservative" - I am for going all the way back to Adam Smith, Hume, etc. liberal individualistic philosophy - liberal then, now relabeled libertarian, with the original term stolen - that was displaced in public opinion by the Ecole Polytechnique school's historicism and positivism and social engineering collectivist statist views actually based on of A. Comte (attributed to Sent-Simon) and Hegel (that actually originated with Condorcet) but better known in Marxism and modern liberalism/socialism/welfare state ideologies.

So if I am open minded as to going back to traditional 19th century liberal values - yes, I qualify.
But the root and original meaning actually derives from liberty - individual liberty as opposed to state control.

GRUNHERZ: Seriously how can you talk about freedom and liberty when you also display a confederate flag - but then again I know you managed to convince yourself that the south had no slaves or was about to free them all and that the war had nothing to do with slavery.

See - even GRUNHERZ believes I do not see it as an avatar of hate. I see it as a flag of self-determination and the idea it was anything but that was invented relatively recently - in the 1970s as a part of ongoing revisionism of US history.
The southern states did not hate the Union in the "I want to destroy you" sense. They just did not like it enough to stay in it. So it is rather an avatar "I am not too happy with you". :)

They did not fight a civil war - which is a war to control a government - but rather wanted to get away from the government.

If you prefer to believe that I attribute any other meaning to that flag - sorry. I can give you my assurances and even disclose my position in any detail you want but I cannot do anything to make you tust me.

11) "Your mama wears combat boots" never made sense to me ... stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore, could kick your ass!

Mama DID wear combat boots. She was a nurse in WW2, its how she met my dad. She just celebrated her 86th birthday and can still kick ass.
