... still don't understand the community.
How many people are there actively posting on these forums and reading them? I tend to believe it is a very small hard-core group of very frustrated individuals who wouldn't dare to even look me in the eye if the came across me IRL.
I used to read the forums for fun and to learn a few things but boy, are you guys rude to each other. Do you act like that to your friends (if you have any left), your wife, your children, your colleagues? Some seem to be rude for the sake of rudeness itself (pretty easy on the net), and there is an awful lot of 'I am right, and you are SO STUPID' kindergarten stuff too.
There's also quite a lot of whining (I never understood the meaning better than after a few months here!) about how people HAVE TO fly and behave in the game, or how HTC is OBLIGED to fix that bug, add that plane... there's no end to it. And the majority of the people here is waaay over 30 too! It's a game folks, supposed to be fun!
Some people have been friendly and helpful (thank you), and the game is fun, even if you hardly play more than an hour per day (so you'll never become any good like me) But I experienced nothing, I repeat NOTHING of the cameraderie I expected between people who share a common interest for WWII aviation and might be expected to show a little respect for each other and for the people who make all this possible.
