If I remember right, that is how I had to map my hat too, mapping it in the AH keymapping utility, and it worked fine.  If AH sees the key combos, can't you just map them to the views you desire?  Seems to me that is what worked for me.  Otherwise, not sure how to address that part.

Hmmm. Hadn't thought of that, and I thought I'd tried everything!
 I'll have to experiment with that in the joystick mapping feature.  Meanwhile, I've got CH USB stuff in transit.  My rudder pots weren't registering correctly anyway, and after 8 years I've gotten my money out of the gear.
