Well I'm right in the subject which I replied to, in the south slaves were slaves.. while they fought and died for the south, they still did it as slaves.

As for the rest, I realize what the stars 'n bars mean to the majority of southerners... I've got just as much deep south blood in me as I do far north. I don't disagree with you on that issue.

I resent the use of the British flag as an avatar, it represents centuries of colonial repression.  Think of all the poor desperate pirates who were caught and hanged by ships and crews flying this flag :D (ok just kidding, but you do realize that any flag / national symbol may mean something different to others, dont you?)

Now the swaztika is just wrong (if it represents nazism) but the rebel flag is a symbol more of lost causes than hate.  Or perhaps it just represents the southern need to pull on the chin whiskers of the yankee powers.  (everyone in the north is rich and powerful, ya'know) :p

If you look closely, more racists use the swazitka than the rebel battle flag to represent thier "feelings".  I hate racism, and living where i do, and have lived, I have seen it in action.  It is a subtle thing sometimes, and you cannot say that because I honor the memory of the men who fought for the confederacy that I am a racist.  You may find other reasons to do so, but I hope not, as I try to put such petty ignorance behind me and hope to teach my children to look beyond race and religion.

OK just my opinion....couldn't stand it anymore, had to post.....
