AH's Colossal Squid Caught Near Antarctica!

The grammer of this statement
Quote
The body of the colossal squid is much bigger than the giant squid, which can weigh up to 900 kg, 2,000 pounds when fully grown . A giant squid's tentacles can be up to 13 meters long, compared with five meters on the recovered creature

confused me. Are they saysing that this squid. 150 kg is only 1/6th the size of a full grown giant squid. And that Collosal squids are much bigger then that?
So this is the biggest ever gotten and they think the real big ones are what ? 10 times that size...much bigger then 6 times that size anyway.
So they grow to what 1500 KG?
Or did they mean that the Colosals grow to 900 kilos?

Not a squid, a blue-ringed octopus.

Pongo, I think they are saying that the giant squid's body full grown is 900kg and the tentacles (full grown) are 13 feet long compared to this young colossal squid's tentacles of 5ft long.

That's how it appears to me anyhow.

But the giant squid and colossal squid are different speicies. And the colossal squid is way bigger then the giant squid.
A giant squid comes in at 900 kg. so how big is the Colossal squid?
Or is it a gramatical error.
I give it an F for clearity anyway.

You got me... only thing I can guess is that they don't know how big the colossals can actually get.

I second your 'F'.
