Hi:

4tyh post, same issue, someone please reply:

My sounds don't work. I can get local and squad vox. When someone or I key vox, I hear the plane, bullets etc. When I start the engie I hear it start--GVs and AC both--but as soon as RPM gauge spikes (engine running) nada. I do get vox. Not a sound, not one, never, ever not once ever. Once in awhile something will happen and the sounds will magically start working in flight. Oncew in a very great while. It works for generally 10-20 seconds and cuts out again. My system configs as follows:

Running XP Home
Have Cable Modem
Aopen AK77-333 MB
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Sound Card
Beaucoup Ram
Honking AMD Chip
Labtec Headset

In the AH voice setup, make sure that Effects slider is cranked all the way to 100%.

Try turning sound acceleration down a notch in windows...

Check and make sure you have the latest sound card drivers as well.

It sounds (no pun intended) like some buffer is being overrun causing the sound card to lose its interface to the game.

The drivers were new but they did not correct teh problem. Again, thanks man.

Did you try this suggestion yet? I had a stutter that developed whenever I pulled the trigger to fire. I did this and the stutter stopped.

Yep did all that.

I got it working, downloaded new drivers for everything, new direct x, reinstall, reset bingo bango--it works.

NEW PROBLEM:

Vox sounds like an echo chamber?

Thanks All!

Make sure you've adjusted the mic levels in the Windows sound properties. I think you can also do it through DXDiag under Networking. There should be an option for DX voice options where you can run the wizard and set your mic levels.

Thanks All!

Do you have a "Control Panel" Specifically for your cound card. If so check if there is an "effects" (Or similar) tab. Make sure you do not have any effects like Echo (or Reverb) enabled My vox sounds like it's coming from down a sewer pipe if these are enabled.
