Aside from flaming journalists and news anchors, how about a thread that shows some of the good things they've said or done. I've been exclusive on CNN for the most part during the entire campaign and these are just a few things.
1. Aaron Brown in the early stages of the campaign made me very proud when he tore the proverbial "new a-hole" to an Al-Jazeera executive in charge of what they air following the ambush of the maintence unit when the 7 prisoners were taken in addition to Jessica Lynch. During the interview the evening the tapes aired with the highly highly graphic images of what appeared to be executed soldiers following their capture and probable execution in captivity. Mr. Brown was unrelenting in his verbal assault on this key Al-Jazeera official addressing the officials poor judgement and very poor taste as well as a very unprofessional journalistic act.
2.) An embedded journalist with the "Devil Docs" has now performed two surgeries. No, he didn't stay at a holiday inn express last night, but he is a neuro-surgeon. Possibly saving the life of one iraqi soldier (who will at the conclusion of the fighting become an iraqi civilian living in his newly-liberated country) and unfortunately did not save a young boy with a mortal wound to the head. At any rate I was proud of these acts and highly admire medics, corpsmen and doctors in these modern MASH units.
3.) Walter Rodgers and his crew with the 7th cavalry after routing an Iraqi armor unit discovered an iraqi officer still alive laying in a berm along a road. The security officer traveling with Mr. Rodgers was a former SAS member and a qualified medic and saved the life of this man. Well done to Walter.
Anyone witness any other well done and/or admirable actions taken by journalists, embedded or otherwise?
