hehe instant disarmament

I think they still technically in a state of war with Iraq [declared by Iraq back in 1948], but that may change pretty quickly with the new democratic government.  Israel has a pretty good sense of realism (being that they have their backs to the sea), and doesn't let technicalities over-rule that.

ill tell you one thing for certain alot of innocent people owe years of risk free living to that attack dude. real balls on that attack as well it was unescorted approach was 'stealth' before stealth type airplanes existed. kind of sad trivia but the leader of that attack bought it when Columbia went down. ill bet hes getting alot of drinks bought for him in whatever afterlife he went to tho.

Ah.. so pre-emptive has it's place?   You say that war was never "technichaly" over?  Aren't we still fighting the '91 war?

lotta hair splitting here.

I seem to recall ol Bush saying in a speech after 911 that any country that harbored terrorists was fair game.   bet a few gold toilet owning despots evict some of their terrorists after this.

Greneda was 'pre-emptive', Panama.. 'pre-emptive', Kosovo.. 'pre-emptive'.. etc.

nothin new here, besides the wailing of the euro-media.
The price of Freedom is the willingness to do sudden battle, anywhere, any time and with utter recklessness...

...at home, or abroad.

I tell you what was a bad thing. It took the US 12 years to act
on Saddam, knowing the atrocities he was commiting against humanity.

On another note, The 7 hostages that I had thought surely
dead were found alive. This speaks volumes for the Iraqi people.
I think there is goodness in all people and all just want to be free.

I feel bad that we sucked up to the un for 12 years too.   We knew it was a waste of time and we shoulda known that what had to be done would never be approved by all those countries with so much to hide...

lazs2, in hindsight, I definetly believe it was a good thing.

The world would be a different place if it wasnt for that strike.

Althought I agreed with him on that point, let me just say that just because Bush says something, it does not make it right.

He is just a President, not some higher authority like the pope was during the catholic rule.

I think thats incorrect. In fact, he was the greenest pilot when that attack took place.

Still seems like he was great man though.

animal... I didn't say that when Bush says somethng he is allways right... what I meant was that any attack on world terror should be no surprise.   I agree with him on this one.   the only language the countries that harbor terrorists understand is "regime change".

You wanna keep the gold toilets?   evict the terrorists.

Actually the History Channel had a show on a few weeks ago about that attack and they had 5 of the 8 pilots there for a group interview.

The gentleman who died on board the Columbia was the youngest of the group and was the rookie pilot and was single while all the others were married and had a lot more seniority.

The mission planners expected to lose at least 1 aircraft during the mission.  In fact, the pilots joked on the show about how they teased him about being single and young and that if any of them had to die on the mission, it should be him because he didnt have a wife and kids at home waiting for him.  He was flying in the number 8 slot....last guy in and last guy out.

Kind of a weird twist of fate that he made it through the mission...in fact all 8 aircraft and pilots survived....only to become Israel's first astronaut and die onboard the Columbia.  The pilot interviews and info presented in that show was very interesting.  I wish they would replay it so that I can tape it.
