A lien is a claim on property.  Usually it refers to banks having a lien on a house or business, once the homeowner (or businessman) takes out a loan he can put up the property as collateral, giving the bank a lien on the property.  If he fails to repay the loan, the bank can make good on the lien and seize the property, and sell it to recoup their losses.

Mechanics also get a 'mechanics lien" where they can hold an automobile until the owner pays for the services rendered.

By the way, apparently they are blind as well as stupid, Dowding.

BTW Puke - perhaps you should look a little harder. The war in Chechnya was expansively discussed not so long ago and I've seen several threads about it. As for France's involvement in Africa - start a thread.  -Dowding

Somehow I missed anything serious about them.  Maybe I will look into it and see where these characters in here stood on those issues, or if they just cropped up when given a chance to spew venom at the USA.  Actually, to be honest, I do not have that time.  I will make assumption that these people take the same stance on other atrocities going on in this world.

And "two-faced" is not really a personal attack but rather a valid description of an attitude.  If I called you a devil's advocate is that me calling you names as well?

Blitz is a tough enough girl.  With tens of thousands of Iraqis her government has killed over the last 10 years by propping up Saddam's dictatorship she should expect a little criticism anyway.

Blitz = Post Monkey..

monkeys are cute. everybody would like to have a monkey.

only one small problem.. monkeys have some disgustingly bad personal habits... like flinging their shiit everywhere.
The price of Freedom is the willingness to do sudden battle, anywhere, any time and with utter recklessness...

...at home, or abroad.

There's no point in arguing with you, Nuke. I hope you're being obtuse for the sake of it.

Puke - imagine you are negociating a business deal with a supplier of your company. If you claimed they were being the devil's advocate, would they be offended? Probably not. If you claimed they were two faced, would they be offended? I think almost definitely.

Do a search on Chechnya with either mine, Boroda's or Toad's usernames. I suggest 'Babitsky' too - I remember having a long discussion about him, but I might have spelt his name incorrectly.

10 quid says it does.

Henry Kissinger thread was closed because he is an american warcriminal, directly responsible for the death of 300 000 cambodian people and partly indirectly responsible for the takeover of Polpot.

Not enough, he was involved in assasination of General Schneider in Chile, millitay coup in Chile against a democratlly elected government which cost the lives of 10thousands of innocents, torturing and so on.
He's responsible of genocide of people of Ost-Timor. And more.

It's the unbelievebale aggressiveness of american foreign policy seen in the last 12 month that makes this war unique for me.

When the russians invaded Afganisthan i was at the streets 2.
And there's absolutely no difference here other than Russia has at least at border to Ahganisthan.

American government had absolutely no right to invade Iraq. Human Rights was never their goal, if they speak about that, it's just for the audience sitting in front of their TVs.

The only right they can count on with their evil politics are their military and economical power.

They have not even found any WMDs in Iraq yet as they told us, they knew exactly were they are but can't give information about to UN inspectors because they had to cover their sources, and now they threaten Syria with a war. These guys in the White House are dangerous and overbearing. It's a shame these unresponsible cowboys dare to speak about morality.

Listening to you, one may think that the liberation of Iraq was the worst human tragey of our time and the only thought in your mind. [/B]

Hitler liberated parts of Soviet Union 2, the people there praised them as liberators. Does that tell me anything about it was right or not?

I know You know some people in the neighbourhood guilty of crimes but they still free.

Go, beat 'em up and feel great!

It's the difference between political culture and Evil Power Play.
