RPS has some advantages, but many disadvantages.  Lets not take a game we like and try to make it become the other we used to fly.  If we wanted the features of the other one, we could have stayed there.

Hello friends:

All their opinions are very respectable, but there are things that I do not understand.

If AH is, it assumes, a simulator battle of the WWII, so that they are so obstinate to have a RPS?

The war is born (unfortunately) in 1939, so that we always flew with 1944/45 airplanes?

If they do not want a RPS, there is necessity of early airplanes of the war, because very few people fly 109E, or Spitfire I, or CR42 if they must face against a Spitfire XIV, F4U etc.

Nonserious pretty to have the CR42, D520, the He51 or the Glatiator (among other many) and to emulate the combats on France, Crete, or the invasion of Russia?

Think, that serious possible with a RPS in the MA and serious ideal for the CT or the Events

A greeting

Supongo

P.D.: if we followed, AH arrived at the war of Korea without seeing fly sad P40 or P36. Is my opinion

Hola amigos:

"If AH is, it assumes, a simulator battle of the WWII"

A common misconception.  The AH MA doesn't re-create any past war or conflict, it is a battle happening NOW on our computers.  The combatants are the Knights, Rooks, and Bishops.  This war just happens to use WW2-era equipment, not unlike the "Soccer War" of the 1960's.

Why not try enjoying the MA for what it is--a fantasy air war between non-existant countries in a non-existant world?

Garrido, most of us are against an RPS, because we tried one in Warbirds and didn't like it.

And I don't see any reason why it would be any different in AH.

I'm a big fan of rolling plane sets (ducks to avoid tomato thrown by J_A_B), but I've got to admit that it's never been popular in AW, either.  We used to have RPS in Fightertown.  People enjoyed it for the first few days, then started to whine that they couldn't fly their hot rod plane.

The odd thing about the AH reaction to the proposal, though, is this:  Folks here seem to be obsessed with equating AH with a Real War.  Be careful what channel you talk on.  Ganging is a good thing, like it was in Real Life.  Landgrab is All.  And so on.  The resistance to historical a/c on historical sides just doesn't seem to fit.

I liked RPS in WB.
It forced you to fly and learn a variety of planes.
I like variety, therefore I liked RPS.
A lot of folks don't like variety, therefore they probably won't like RPS.
No way to make everyone happy on this one.

Oh well.
