Nice detail on the cowl flaps.  Did that come as seperate pieces or did you have to scratch build them?

I'm just going to keep these two on my desk. They're pretty small.... about 7" long.

If I build any more I will have to make a shelf for them.

skernsk the cowl flaps are one piece and the panels are molded that way. You have a choice of building the flaps opened or closed. On the corsair I brought out all the panel lines using very thinned grey paint.

Thanks for the compliments everyone :)

It would take me about a dozen shots of Crown Royal to get my hands steady enough to paint fine lines like that. Very nice.

Nuke,
Very nice man, wow that it is only two models you've done in last 20 years.
Keep it up. :)

Nilsen10, BGBMAW, SaburoS thanks!

I decided not to try to weather these though I know it looks cool when you get a nice weathered look down.

You guys have any pics posted I could look at?

SaburoS, I used to make them when I was between 15 and 18 or so and I'm 38 now.

When I was 15 I had a 1/48th Tamiya F-15 that won a model contest. Turns out some pilots from Luke AFB saw the model and they contacted me. A few of them paid me to build the planes that they flew ( F-4s, F-15's) and took me to the AFB and let me ride and fly the F-15, T-38 and F-4 simulators.

Very nice Nuke.  I've started back into modeling a few Months ago... but then my 4 year old Son convinced to to wait a few years.   He wasted a few Mustangs, a P-40 and a 190A8. But I still love him.
