*cries*  3-0 Devils over my pitiful Lightning!

That's ok, the first round started out with a 3-0 loss to the Caps followed by a 6-3 loss.  Then 4 straight wins.  :)   Guess they need their backs to the wall before they start playing well in a series!

Was surprised to see the Ducks win that one. After the first couple of periods, it really looked like the Stars had control of the ice, especially the neutral zone.

I was one of the pitiful ones who couldn't shut the TV off and watched the entire game...  The great thing was, even after 5 OT periods, neither team slowed down. It was unreal.  I believe Anaheim was strongly out-played throughout most of the game, although they did have some great forechecking and strong play along the boards at times.

But Giguere... Good God who is this guy???? Anaheim owes him all four wins against Detroit, and the win against Dallas as well. This guy is a brick wall.

The sportscasters were talking about Giguere's pads being borderline. They never said exactly what was wrong with them, just that the NHL would be making some rules changes next year.

I couldn't see anything obviously wrong with the pads. What's that story?

Giguere comes from the new QUEBEC style of goaltenders.....

the Teacher of these goalies is called S. Allaire.....

he started a school just for goaltenders.....

Fernandez(Minnesota)....Giguere(Ducks)......Roy(Colorado)....Biron(Buffalo).....Denis(Columbas)...Luongo(Florida)

none Allaire Students but still from Quebec.......

Brodeur(New Jersey).....Thibault(Chicago..he studied under Allaire when he was in Montreal).....Theodore(Montreal)....Potvin(L.A.)....Lalime(Ottawa)

SlowHand,

Thanks for the info.

I'm a season ticket holder here in South Florida...

Living in Florida, we have a strange phenomenon with our fan base. Most people who reside in Florida aren't from here. At our hockey games, we have a TON of people wearing the visiting team's jersey because they're from that state and moved here.

I can't tell you how many times I've had people ask me about Roberto Luongo at the games. Who is this guy??? HOLY SH*T!

Now I have some information to tell them... Thanks!!!!

I did hear them mention that his glove was actually smaller than a normal NHL goalie glove.
