I never played WB on-line, so I don't have anything constructive to add.

Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

The difference between then and now is that AH isn't the only game in town, as CK(WB) was at that point.

Warbirds was never the only game in town.. even when it was CK.  That AW game was always there in some form or another.

Now.. it WAS the only semi-realistic sim in town at the time... though many rumors would emerge about the newest greatest one (especially in arguments about how bad WB was).  Those games never really evolved.

Anyone remember CK (after CK)?.. it was supposed to use that Domark terrain engine again.  The terrain was great but the sim never took off.  Eidos musta really ate it on that one.  I hear the developer is trying to do some modifications and sell the source.  Heheheh.. that game really sucked.  I think I still have all the beta cd's laying around here somewhere.

AH is the first sim to come even close to it in realism.  Dare I say surpass it?  I can't wait to see what a little competition does to both AH and WB.
