Blitz,
You are clearly an bellybutton bag. It doesn't have anything to do with some ambiguous notion of national morality you moron.
Our nation was at war. She gave aid to the enemy. She's a traitor, end of story.
At the time, the United States was in serious struggle with a very powerful nation whose sole aim was to turn the world to communism by force if necessary. In a misguided attempt to stem the tide of a cold war many thought we were losing at the time, we intervened in Vietnam at the request of the French and the South Vietnamese.
It was the thought at the time we were in a struggle for our very existence and it was better to fight the war on the shores of Vietnam than the sunny beaches of California.
Right or wrong, I think our leaders acted in way they truly believed was in the best interests of the nation at that time. We were not trying to force our way of life on another country, we were trying to preserve the independence of another nation. Our execution was poor and our insight into the microcosm of the problems of Vietnam were inaccurate to say the least.
Hell, Ho Chi Min would have junked Communism for Free Trade if we would have backed him in getting the French out of Vietnam.
